Padtec, one of the world leaders in optical communications systems, announced, during its participation at the Fiber Connect LATAM 2023 event, a partnership with FYCO, a global company specialized in technological solutions for the telecommunications sector. The objective is to expand the presence of the Brazilian provider in Mexico and, at the same time, promote the implementation of high-capacity communications networks, based on DWDM technology, in that country. And also contribute to the training of professionals in the telecommunications sector in Mexico, through educational projects in partnership with FYCO Learning – FYCO's academic institution accredited by the Fiber Broadband Association (FBA).
“In Padtec we found a company with a track record and technical capacity to collaborate in this market, through the ongoing education of professionals and technicians in the sector,” says Edwar Juárez, Chief Operating Officer of FYCO. “We believe that training is a fundamental tool to develop skills and transform telecommunications in our continent and, together, we hope to train more than 2,500 people in optical transmission networks in Mexico,” he adds. The executive highlights that collaboration between companies represents a fundamental component for the expansion of fiber optic networks. “Together with Padtec we hope to achieve a significant presence in the market of Internet providers and operators in the country, which will allow us to increase the region's transmission capacity and expand its connection with other markets,” he assesses.
“We are pleased to collaborate with FYCO due to their extensive experience in Mexico, which has become an increasingly attractive market for our solutions,” emphasizes Hernán Yepes, manager of Padtec’s office in Colombia and the CALA Norte region. “The company is strategically located in Querétaro to meet the connectivity needs of the country, where the data center industry has been gaining strength, revealing the need for high-capacity and low-latency transmission networks to reach markets such as the United States,” he concludes. In total, Padtec has already illuminated more than 2 thousand kilometers of optical networks in Mexico, connecting the Mexican states of Quintana Roo and Yucatán with one of the most important operators in the region.
