Fyco Learning and FBA at the forefront of technical training!

The need to connect people to the Internet is more evident today than ever. This need translates into increased bandwidth and coverage, which has led companies in the telecommunications industry to take action. Their adaptation to this new reality has entailed a series of changes and challenges that have resulted in infrastructure costs and investment, as well as training needs and new technical skills for their employees.

Without a doubt, investment in infrastructure technology—due to its relevance—is taking center stage in the changes in the telecommunications industry, but for products and services to be optimal and respond to growing demand, training is required. Therefore, human talent, today, is one of the key investments for scientific and industrial development in any field.

The Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) LATAM Chapter is comprised of a diverse group of telecommunications service providers, high-tech manufacturers, and other companies in Latin America, with the goal of promoting the development of next-generation internet, voice, and video services, and increased bandwidth for homes throughout the region.

Specifically, the Latin American chapter of FBA, aware of the challenge of being at the forefront of technological services, has prioritized professional training, updating and restructuring its training and certification program to support operators in their technological evolution strategy and thus accelerate the successful adoption of fiber technology in the region. It is worth noting that, since 2010, FBA, through its certifications, has assisted professionals and technicians from the most important operators in Latin America.

The restructuring of the FBA Training and Certification program is the result of understanding the reality and needs of the region , and seeks to provide high-quality training routes in their language and at a cost adjusted to their socioeconomic situation . For this reason, it has partnered with Fyco Learning, the learning and training academy of the company FYCO Telecomunicaciones .

In this regard, FBA LATAM and FYCO signed an agreement to accredit Fyco Learning as an FBA Academy, with the goal of bringing its new training program to all corners of Latin America, aiming to become the benchmark in knowledge and skills for the design, assembly, installation, operation, and activation of FTTx networks in the region.

This is a highly important partnership, as it allows for broad regional reach, and secondly, allows anyone with knowledge and interest in the deployment and activation of fiber optic networks to enter this field or validate their experience, contributing to the strengthening of this industry and boosting the regional economy.

Regarding the alliance, FYCO Co-CEO Edwar Juárez stated: “ For us, the alliance of our Fyco Learning unit with the Fiber Broadband Association – LATAM Chapter is a very important milestone, as it will allow us to continue connecting people across Latin America by teaching best practices and procedures in the implementation and operation of optical networks. Without a doubt, the need for validation and certification processes for knowledge, skills, and attitudes in fiber optic network technologies in our region is palpable.”

“Since we launched Fyco Learning, we've always sought out partnerships with the best organizations to provide companies in the region with reliable, neutral training and assessment processes, thereby achieving the professionalization of the people who work in this sector. We are confident that together with FBA LATAM we will contribute to this goal ,” said Juárez.

For his part, Nelson Saito, President of the Latin American FBA Chapter , stated, “ This strategic alliance with Fyco Learning is very important for the FBA LATAM Chapter to resume its training and certification project. We hope to reach the LATAM market and train as many people as possible in the region with a high level of technological knowledge and understanding of the industry's needs .”

And, as Juárez affirms, Fyco Learning strives for excellence in training, which is why it establishes alliances and strategies with the best organizations in the world. Fyco Learning, for its part, is based on active learning methodologies—with b-learning (virtual-in-person) and a technological platform—and, as a pioneering program, will be tasked with delivering the FBA LATAM route, so necessary for the staff of a large number of companies currently investing in updating their infrastructure.

Training and developing the skills, techniques, and work processes of human talent reduces operating costs, mitigates workplace accidents and reduces the margin of technical error, and boosts productivity and economic growth, strengthening marketing strategies, and contributing to the region's economic development. Fyco Telecomunicaciones, through Fyco Learning, and the Fiber Broadband Association are ready to take on the challenge.
