The second edition of Fiber Connect LATAM 2024 took place on June 25 and 26 at the Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center in Lima, Peru, transforming this space into a technological epicenter that brought together telecommunications specialists, technicians and professionals to address issues related to the development and growth of connectivity in Latin America.
The event's agenda highlighted the implementation of novel solutions, broadband evolution and network deployments in the country, underlining the crucial role of technologies such as fiber optics and 5G in bridging digital divides and improving user satisfaction in a dynamic digital era.
Key panels and projects
Our team actively participated in different networking and idea-sharing spaces. During the panel “Expansion of fiber optic infrastructure in Peru”, we discussed three key factors for the growing adoption of optical networks in the country, highlighting the entry of new operators and the reduction of investment costs. In addition, we presented significant projects that we have developed in Peru, positively impacting thousands of people in various communities.
On the other hand, our booth became a meeting point that highlighted our commitment to digital inclusion, supporting connectivity projects that bring internet to urban and rural areas, overcoming geographical complexities that previously limited these deployments.
Likewise, recognizing the existence of significant gaps in opportunities and leadership for women in the technology industry, we sponsored a special lunch for the “Women of Fibra FBA LATAM” group, an event that included an interactive panel aimed at promoting collaboration and female empowerment in our sector.
Training spaces
Once again, Fiber Connect LATAM Peru offered a valuable opportunity for industry professionals to specialize in fiber optics. We taught the FBA Certified Field Expert (FCFE) and FBA Certified Field Operations Expert (FCOE) courses and participated in the "Development of professional skills for the deployment of fiber optics / FBA LATAM Certification" space. These programs, designed by the Fyco Learning academy in collaboration with the FBA, focus on increasing technical capabilities in the selection of optical equipment and instruments and the construction of outside plant networks.
