We witnessed a key chapter for Caribbean connectivity at FiberX Expo 2025. Puerto Rico is experiencing a unique acceleration: thanks to a resilient focus on sustainability and scalability in network construction, fiber optics is expanding at a pace that seemed improbable just a few years ago.
At this meeting, our participation had a clear objective: to provide a strategic vision on how to measure and enhance the real value of a network in a market that is consolidating every day. During the presentation by Simon Ogando, FYCO's Caribbean Regional Manager, we not only shared metrics and trends; we also discussed critical decisions that operators must make today to ensure their stability, how to anticipate the impact of private investment, how to optimize existing assets, and how to design networks with a long-term vision.
Networking sessions with local operators, engineers, regulators, and suppliers confirmed that Puerto Rico is not only looking to improve its infrastructure, but also to position itself as a connectivity hub. The island's geography, submarine cables, and ecosystem of technical talent are advantages that can make it a benchmark for innovation and network robustness.
We summarized the meeting with three words: projects, partnerships, and understanding, reaffirming our commitment to continue working to make this new era of connectivity in Puerto Rico a tangible reality.
