More infrastructure for greater opportunities

About the project

FYCO took on the responsibility of supporting a major carrier in its goal of expanding bandwidth capacity in five cities in Mexico: Querétaro, Mexico City, Tijuana, Monterrey and Mazatlán.

This task, in addition to providing materials, involved the planning of 5 new nodes, where tasks such as the selection and placement of equipment in racks, activation of FOSS panels and installation of FED, as well as the deployment of fiber within different areas in the data centers were considered.

The challenge

Mexico is a country with sustained growth in telecommunications networks. The client required a versatile partner that could manage a trained and efficient work team. To allow the reliable operation of the nodes, FYCO had to evaluate the conditions of the site, taking into account architectural principles in the data centers to select the best location and infrastructure, implementing security measures and data management.

“Mexico is a very large country, and being able to move around different cities, providing quality service and personalized, close and open attention to the client, was our added value. We entered a very competitive area, and this challenge ended up being a great success.”

The strategy

 Close bond

Open and direct communication with the client facilitated accurate responses and timely solutions, establishing a fluid and close relationship.

Specialized attention

Appointing a specialist engineer to lead the project allowed us to understand the client's needs and to continue with more and more activities with the support of various areas and numerous FYCO collaborators.

 Continuous monitoring

Daily reports and monthly meetings ensured transparency and clarity in actions. At the end of each day, the team documented the activities carried out during the day and sent it to the client. Sessions were also held for a detailed review of all files and photographic evidence of the work.

“From planning the new nodes to installing the equipment, each step was carefully executed by our highly skilled team. This project not only represented a technical challenge, but also an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to innovation and excellence.”

Figures

  • 100% of the FYCO Mexico team involved.

  • 5 new nodes built in different cities in Mexico.

  • 64 FEDs installed on each node.

  • 20 thousand users benefited from each FED.

  • 2 years as estimated duration to complete the project.

Results

Project growth

The client saw in FYCO a responsible service provider to begin growing in Mexico. As a result, initiatives were added in the data centers of three new locations in the country, Saltillo, León and Aguascalientes.

Technological development

By building 5 nodes, the client strengthened its role as a Carrier by expanding its service coverage more efficiently and with updated equipment, achieving much greater data transmission through its communication networks.

Operational Agility

Response and execution times were optimized, going from two days to five days respectively, allowing for faster and more efficient progress in the different phases of the project.
